It was narrated to me by Moḥammed bin al-Ḥassan, from Moḥammed bin al-Ḥassan al-Ṣaffār, from Aḥmed bin ʿAbd Allāh, from Manṣūr bin al-ʿAbbās, from Saʿīd bin Janāḥ, who said – it was narrated to me by Abū Mashʿar:

From Abī ʿAbd Allāh عليه السلام, who said: Whoever says when he wakes up ‘All Praise is due to Allāh, the Lord of all the Worlds’ (Al-Ḥamdulillahi Rabb al-ʿĀlamīn), four times, has fulfilled his gratitude [due to Allāh] for that day; and whoever says it when the evening comes, he has fulfilled his gratitude [due to Allāh] for the night.

حدثني محمد بن الحسن عن محمد بن الحسن الصفار عن أحمد بن أبي عبد الله عن منصور بن العباس عن سعيد بن جناح قال حدثني أبو مشعر عن أبي عبد الله عليه السلام قال: من قال إذا أصبح أربع مرات الحمد لله رب العالمين فقد أدى شكر يومه ومن قالها إذا أمسى فقد أدى شكر ليلته
