And with this chain, from Aḥmed, from his father, and Moḥammed bin ʿĪsa, from Ṣafwān bin Yaḥya, from Abī Ayūb al-Khazāz, from Abī Baṣīr:1

from Abī ʿAbd Allāh عليه السلام who said: One day, The Messenger of Allāh صلى الله عليه وآله said to his companions: “Have you considered if you gathered what you have from the clothes and utensils and then you placed them one on top of the other, do you propose it will reach the sky?”
They said: “No, oh Messenger of Allāh!”
He said: “Shall I point you towards something, which has its roots is in Earth, and its branches are in the skies?”
They said: “Yes, Oh Messenger of Allāh!”
He said: “Each of you should say, after he finishes from his obligatory prayers, “Glory be to Allāh, and all Praise is due to Allāh, and there is no god by Allāh, and Allāh is Greater” (SubḥānAllāh, wal-Ḥamdulillah, wa Lā Ilāha Ila Allāh, Wa-Allāhu Akbar), thirty times – for their roots are on Earth, and their roots are in the skies – and they drive away the destruction, fire, drowining, falling into wells, being devoured by beasts, violent deaths, and the calamity which decends from the sky upon the servant on that day – and they are enduring good deeds.”

1. This ḥadīth has a reliable (Muʿtabar) chain (Hādi al-Najafi).
