My father رحمه الله said – it was narrated to me by Saʿd bin ʿAbd Allāh, from Aḥmed bin Moḥammed, from ibn Fadhālah, from ʿAbd Allāh bin Bukayr, from Zurara bin Aʿyun:1

From Abī ʿAbd Allāh عليه السلام, who said: Indeed, Allāh extols himself three times, every day and night. Therefore, whoever extols Allāh with what he has extolled Himself with – if he were to then be in a situation of misery – it would be turned into happiness.
I said to him: How is extolling done?
He said: You say: ‘You are Allāh, there is no god, but You, Lord of the Worlds.
You are Allāh, there is no god, but You; The Entirely Merciful, The Especially Merciful.
You are Allāh, there is no god, but You; The High, The Great.
You are Allāh, there is no god, but You; Master of the Day of Judgement.
You are Allāh, there is no god, but You; The Forgiving, The Especially Merciful.
You are Allāh, there is no god, but You; The Mighty, The Wise.
You are Allāh, there is no god, but You; who began everything, and to You it returns.
You are Allāh, there is no god, but You; You have not ceased to exist, nor can you cease to exist.
You are Allāh, there is no god, but You; Creator of good and evil.
You are Allāh, there is no god, but You; Creator of Heaven and the Fire.
You are Allāh, there is no god, but You; The One, The Self-sufficient, who does not beget, nor is he begotten, nor is there to Him any equivalent.
You are Allāh, there is no god, but You; The King, The Pure, The Perfection, The Bestower of Faith, The Overseer, The Mighty, The Compeller, The Superior. Exalted is Allāh above whatever they associate with Him.
You are Allāh,The Creator, The Inventor, The Fashioner; to Him belong the best names. Whatever is in the heavens and earth is exalting Him. And He is the Mighty, The Wise.
You are Allāh, there is no god, but You; The Most Great, for whom Greatness is Your garb.’
