Wasā’il al-Shīʿa, Chapter on the impurification of what is lesser than the kurr from inert (water) by the coming in contact of najasa to it, when it comes upon it even if it did not become altered – Ḥadīth #16

16 – `Ali b. Ja`far in his book from his brother.
He said: I asked him about a cask of water in which there is a thousand rotl (of water), in which an uqiyya of urine falls in, is it appropriate to drink it or do wudu from it? He said: It is not appropriate.

[390] 16 ـ علي بن جعفر في ( كتابه ) عن أخيه، قال: سألته عن حب ماء فيه ألف رطل وقع فيه أوقية بول، هل يصلح شربه أو الوضوء منه؟ قال: لايصلح.

15 – `Ali b. `Isa al-Irbili in the book Kashf al-Ghumma transmitting from the book ad-Dala’il of `Abdullah b. Ja`far al-Himyari from Abu `Abdillah عليه السلام.
He said: When it was the night in which `Ali b. al-Husayn عليه السلام was promised (i.e. in which he died), he said to Muhammad: O my son, seek a wudu-water for me. He said: So I got up and brought water. So he said: Do not seek this, for there is something dead in it. He said: So I left and brought the lamp, and lo there was a dead mouse in it. So brought him another wudu-water – al-hadith
And Sa`d b. `Abdullah narrated it in Basa’ir ad-Darajat from Muhammad b. Isma`il b. Bazi` from Sa`dan b. Muslim from Abu `Imran [from a man] from Abu `Abdillah عليه السلام.
And al-Kulayni narrated it from al-Husayn b. Muhammad b. `Amir from Ahmad b. Ishaq b. Sa`d from Sa`dan b. Muslim from Abu `Umara from a man from Abu `Abdillah عليه السلام.

[389] 15 ـ علي بن عيسى إلإربلي، في ( كتاب كشف الغمة ) نقلا من كتاب الدلائل لعبدالله بن جعفر الحميري، عن أبي عبدالله ( عليه السلام ) قال: لما كان في الليلة التي وعد فيها علي بن الحسين ( عليه السلام ) قال لمحمد: يا بني ابغني وضوءاً، قال: فقمت فجئته بماء. فقال لا تبغ هذا، فإن فيه شيئا ميتا. قال فخرجت فجئت بالمصباح فإذا فيه فارة ميتة فجئته بوضوء غيره، الحديث.
ورواه سعد بن عبدالله في ( بصائر الدرجات ) عن محمد بن إسماعيل بن بزيع، عن سعدان بن مسلم، عن أبي عمران [ عن رجل ]، عن أبي عبدالله ( عليه السلام ).
ورواه الكليني، عن الحسين بن محمد بن عامر، عن أحمد بن إسحاق بن سعد، عن سعدان بن مسلم، عن أبي عمارة، عن رجل، عن أبي عبدالله ( عليه السلام ).

14 – And from him from Ahmad b. Muhammad b. al-Hasan b. `Ali b. Faddal from `Amr b. Sa`id from Musaddiq b. Sadaqa from `Ammar as-Sabati from Abu `Abdillah عليه السلام in a hadith wherein he said:
He was asked about a man who has two vessels with him in which there is water and in one of them filth has dropped in, (but) he does not know which of them it is and he is not able to (procure) other water. He said: He pours them both out and does tayammum.

[388] 14 ـ وعنه، عن أحمد بن محمد بن الحسن بن علي بن فضال، عن عمرو بن سعيد، عن مصدق بن صدقة، عن عمار الساباطي، عن أبي عبدالله ( عليه السلام ) في حديث قال سئل عن رجل معه إناءان فيهما ماء، وقع في احدهما قذر لا يدري أيهما هو، وليس يقدر على ماء غيرهما؟ قال: يهريقهما جميعا ويتيمم.

13 – And by his isnad from Muhammad b. Ahmad b. Yahya from al-`Amraki from `Ali b. Ja`far from his brother Musa b. Ja`far عليه السلام.
He said: I asked him about the chicken, the pigeon and their likes, stepping on excrement then entering in the water. Does one do wudu from it for salat? He said: No, not unless the water is abundant, an amount of a kurr of water.
And al-Himyari narrated it in Qurb al-Isnad from `Abdullah b. al-Hasan from his grandfather `Ali b. Ja`far likewise.

[387] 13 ـ وبإسناده، عن محمد بن أحمد بن يحيى، عن العمركي، عن علي بن جعفر، عن أخيه موسى بن جعفر( عليه السلام ) قال: سألته عن الدجاجة والحمامة وأشباههما تطأ العذرة ثم تدخل في الماء يتوضّأ منه للصلاة؟ قال: لا، إلا أن يكون الماء كثيرا قدر كر من ماء.
ورواه الحميري في ( قرب الإسناد ) عن عبدالله بن الحسن، عن جده علي بن جعفرمثله.

12 – And by his isnad from Sa`d b. `Abdullah from Musa b. al-Hasan from Abu ‘l-Qasim `Abd ar-Rahman b. Hammad al-Kufi from Bashir from Abu Maryam al-Ansari.
He said: I was with Abu `Abdillah عليه السلام in a garden (lit: wall of enclosure) of his. So the (time of) salat became present, and he scooped out a bucket for wudu from a well of his, and out came a piece of dry excrement. So he inverted its head and did wudu with the rest.

[386] 12 ـ وبإسناده، عن سعد بن عبدالله، عن موسى بن الحسن، عن أبي القاسم عبد الرحمن بن حماد الكوفي، عن بشير، عن أبي مريم الأنصاري، قال: كنت مع أبي عبدالله ( عليه السلام ) في حائط له فحضرت الصلاة فنزح دلواً للوضوء من ركي له فخرج عليه قطعة عذرة يابسة فأكفأ رأسه وتوضّأ بالباقي.

11 – And from him from Ibn Sinan from Ibn Muskan from Abu Basir from Abu `Abdillah عليه السلام.
He said: I asked him about the junub placing the rakwa or the tawr (a small vessel from which one drinks), and inserting his finger in it. He said: If his hand was unclean, then pour it out. And if filth had not contacted it, then he is to do ghusl from it. This is of what Allah تعالى said “He has not laid upon you hardship in the religion” (22:78)
And in Ibn Idris narrated it in the end of as-Sara’ir transmitting from the book an-Nawadir of Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Abi Nasr al-Bazanti from `Abd al-Karim – meaning Ibn `Amr – from Abu Basir likewise.

[385] 11 ـ وعنه، عن ابن سنان، عن ابن مسكان، عن أبي بصير، عن أبي عبدالله ( عليه السلام ) قال: سألته عن الجنب يحمل الركوة أو التور، فيدخل أصبعه فيه؟ قال: وقال: إن كانت يده قذرة فليهرقه ، وإن كان لم يصبها قذرفليغتسل منه.هذا مما قال الله تعالى: ( ما جعل عليكم في الدين من حرج ).
ورواه ابن إدريس في آخر السرائر نقلا من كتاب النوادر لأحمد بن محمّد بن أبي نصر البزنطي، عن عبد الكريم يعني ابن عمرو عن أبي بصير مثله.

10 – And by the isnad from Sama`a.
He said: I asked him about a man who touches the basin or the rakwa (a small drinking vessel of leather), then inserts his hand in the vessel prior to pouring out on his hands. He said: He pours three handfuls of water, but if he did not do so then there is no harm. And if janaba afflicted him and he inserted his hand in the water, then there is no harm with it if nothing of semen had contacted his hand. And if it had contacted his hand and he inserted it in the water prior to pouring out on his hands, then he is to pour out all of the water.

[384] 10 ـ وبالإسناد عن سماعة قال: سألته عن رجل يمس الطست، أو الركوة، ثم يدخل يده فى الإناء قبل أن يفرغ على كفيه؟ قال: يهريق من الماء ثلاث حفنات، وإن لم يفعل فلا بأس، وإن كانت أصابته جنابة فأدخل يده في الماء فلا باس به إن لم يكن أصاب يده شيء من المني. وإن كان أصاب يده فادخل يده في الماء قبل أن يفرغ على كفيه فليهرق الماء كله.

9 – And from him from his brother al-Hasan from Zur`a from Sama`a from Abu `Abdillah عليه السلام.
He said: If janaba afflicts the man and he inserts his hand in the vessel there is no harm when nothing of semen had contacted his hand.

[383] 9 ـ وعنه، عن أخيه الحسن، عن زرعة، عن سماعة، عن أبي عبدالله ( عليه السلام ) قال: إن أصاب الرجل جنابة فأدخل يده في الإناء فلا بأس، إذا لم يكن أصاب يده شيء من المني.

8 – And from him from `Uthman b. `Isa from Sa`id the lame.
He said: I asked Abu `Abdillah عليه السلام about the jar, nine hundred rotl of water, in which an uqiyya (twelve ounces) of blood falls in, do I drink from it and do wudu? He said: No.

[382] 8 ـ وعنه، عن عثمان بن عيسى، عن سعيد الأعرج قال: سألت أبا عبدالله ( عليه السلام ) عن الجرة، تسع مائة رطل من ماء، يقع فيها أوقية من دم، أشرب منه وأتوضأ؟ قال: لا.

7 – Muhammad b. al-Hasan by his isnad from al-Husayn b. Sa`id from Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Abi Nasr.
He said: I asked Abu ‘l-Hasan عليه السلام about the man who inserts his hand in the vessel while it is unclean. He said: He inverts the vessel.

I say: The intent is to spill its water, and it is a figurative expression about making (something) najis.

[381] 7 ـ محمّد بن الحسن بإسناده، عن الحسين بن سعيد، عن أحمد بن محمّد بن أبي نصر قال: سألت أبا الحسن ( عليه السلام ) عن الرجل يدخل يده في الإناء وهي قذرة؟ قال: يكفىء الإناء.

أقول: المراد إراقة مائه، وهو كناية عن التنجيس.
