The Messenger of Allāh صلى الله عليه وآله said to his companions: Shall I inform you of a thing, that if act upon it, the Shayṭān will distance himself from you as far as the distance between the East and the West?
They said: Yes.
He said: Fasting blackens his face, and charity breaks his back, and love for the sake of Allāh, and the avocation of doing good deeds eradicates him, and the seeking of forgiveness cuts his aorta. For everything there is a tax (zakāt), and the tax of the body is fasting.

1. This narration is also found in al-Kāfi. Based on that chain, al-Shaykh Hādi al-Najafi says it is reliable. [Mawsūʿat al-Aḥādīth ahl al-Bayt, Volume 5, Page 481].

وصلى الله على رسوله محمد وآله

The Messenger of Allāh صلى الله عليه وآله said: The gatherings of the people of religion is the glory of this world and the next.

1. This narration – which is also found in al-Kāfi among other books of al-Ṣadūq – has a reliable chain.

Al-‘Āmāli, Al-Shaykh al-Ṣadūq, The Fourteenth Assembly – Ḥadīth #9

It was narrated to us by al-Ḥussain bin Ibrāhīm رحمه الله, who said – it was narrated to us by ʿAlī bin Ibrāhīm, from his father Ibrāhīm bin Hāshim, from ʿAbd Allāh bin Maymūn, from al-Ṣādiq Jaʿfar bin Moḥammed, from his father, from his forefathers عليهم السلام, who said:1

The Messenger of Allāh صلى الله عليه وآله said: Whoever traverses the path of seeking knowledge, Allāh makes his path lead towards Paradise. Indeed, the angels spread out their wings for the seeker of knowledge due to their happiness with him. Indeed, whatever is in the heavens and the Earth seek forgiveness for the seeker of knowledge, even the fish in the sea. The superiority of the seeker of knowledge over the worshipper is like the superiority of the full moon over all the stars. Indeed, the scholars are the heirs to the prophets, and indeed the prophets do not leave a dīnār or dirham as inheritance – but rather they leave behind knowledge as their inheritance. Therefore, whoever takes from it has taken an ample share.

Whoever recites two hundred ayāhs, he will be prescribed to be among the humble. Whoever recites three hundred ayāhs, he will be prescribed to be among the victorious.
