Tafsīr al-ʿAyyāshi: al-ʿAyyāshi, from Moḥammed bin Muslim, who said:

I asked Abā ʿAbd Allāh عليه السلام regarding His saying: Indeed we have given you the seven often repeated verses and the Glorious Qur’ān,1 so he said: The saying therein becomes praised, he said: The Messenger of Allāh صلى الله عليه وآله said: Indeed Allāh has endowed me with the opening of the book from the treasures of the throne, it has In the name of Allāh, The Entirely Merciful, The Especially Merciful, the verse which He says [in it]: And if you mention your lord in the Qurān alone, they turned back on their heels in aversion.2 And All praise is due to Allāh the Lord of the worlds, the prayer of the people of heaven, when they thank Allāh for the great compensation. And the owner of the day of Judgement, Jibrā’īl said: A Muslim does not say it except that Allāh and the inhabitants of the skies believe him. To you we worship, devoted in prayer. To you we rely on for help, the best which thing the slave asks for his needs. Guide us the straight path, the path of the prophets, and they are the ones whom Allāh has bestowed his bounties upon. Not of those who have evoked [Your] anger – the Jews, and not the misguided ones – the Christians.

العياشي : عن محمد بن مسلم ، قال : سألت أبا عبد الله ( عليه السلام ) عن قول الله : ولَقَدْ آتَيْناكَ سَبْعاً مِنَ الْمَثانِي والْقُرْآنَ الْعَظِيمَ ) * فقال : « فاتحة الكتاب [ يثنى فيها القول ، قال : وقال رسول الله ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) : إن الله من علي بفاتحة الكتاب ] من كنز العرش ، فيها * ( بِسْمِ اللَّه الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ ) * الآية التي يقول [ فيها ] : وإِذا ذَكَرْتَ رَبَّكَ فِي الْقُرْآنِ وَحْدَه وَلَّوْا عَلى أَدْبارِهِمْ نُفُوراً . و * ( الْحَمْدُ لِلَّه رَبِّ الْعالَمِينَ ) * دعوى أهل الجنة ، حين شكروا الله حسن الثواب . و * ( مالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ ) * قال جبرئيل : ما قالها مسلم قط إلا صدقة الله وأهل سماواته . * ( إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ ) * إخلاص العبادة . * ( وإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ ) * أفضل ما طلب به العباد حوائجهم . * ( اهْدِنَا الصِّراطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ ) * صراط الأنبياء ، وهم الذين أنعم الله عليهم . * ( غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ ) * اليهود و ( وغير الضالين ) النصارى » .
