Maʿāni al-Akhbār: And from him, who said – it was narrated to us by Moḥammed bin al-Qāsim al-Astarabādi (the exegesist), who said – it was narrated to us by Yūsuf bin al-Mutawakkil, from Moḥammed bin Ziyād, and ʿAlī bin Moḥammed bin Sayyār, from both their fathers:

From al-Ḥassan bin ʿAlī bin Mūsa bin Jaʿfar bin Moḥammed bin ʿAlī bin al-Ḥussain bin ʿAlī bin Abī Ṭālib عليهم السلام regarding His, Mighty and Majestic, saying: The path of those whom you have bestowed your bounties upon, he said: Indeed say: Guide us the path of those who you have bestowed your bounties upon, by success for your religion and your obedience, they are those who Allāh, Mighty and Majestic, said [about]: And whoever obeys Allāh and the Messenger, then these are with those upon whom Allāh has bestowed favours, of the prophets, and the truthful, and the martyrs, and the righteous; and excellent are these as companions.1 The Commander of The Faithful عليه السلام also said the same as this. He (the narrator) said: Then he (the Imām) said: They are not those who have favors bestowed on them through wealth and health of the body, if all of that were from the apparent bounties of Allāh, do you not see that those could be disbelievers or wicked-ones? So you did not wail over so that you may call that you be guided to their path, and indeed you were ordered to call upon to the path of those whom Allāh has bestowed His bounty upon with faith in Allāh, believing in the truthfulness of his messengers, and the guardianship to Moḥammed and his pure progeny and his noble chosen companions, and through righteous dissimulation that through it he becomes safe from the evil of Allāh’s slaves, and in increasing in the wrongdoings of the enemies of Allāh and the disbelievers by hiding from them and not tempting them with harming you and [in turn] harming the believers, and knowing the rights of brotherhood.

1. Al-Nisā’ (4:69).
