It was narrated to us by Moḥammed bin al-Ḥassan رضي الله عنه, who said – it was narrated to us by Moḥammed bin al-Ḥassan al-Ṣaffār, who said – it was narrated to us by al-ʿAbbās bin Maʿrūf, from Moḥammed bin Sinān, from Ṭalḥa bin Zayd, from al-Ṣādiq Jaʿfar bin Moḥammed, from his father, from his forefathers عليهم السلام, who said:

Whoever does takbīr (i.e. says Allāhu Akbar) one hundred times in the evening, it is as if he has unchained one hundred people.

حدثنا محمد بن الحسن ( رضي الله عنه ) ، قال : حدثنا محمد بن الحسن الصفار ، قال : حدثنا العباس بن معروف ، عن محمد بن سنان ، عن طلحة بن زيد ، عن الصادق جعفر بن محمد ، عن أبيه ، عن آبائه ( عليهم السلام ) ، قال : من كبر الله تبارك وتعالى عند المساء مائة تكبيرة ، كان كمن أعتق مائة نسمة .
